Bring plants for "show and tell "table
Meeting:
Mr. Tom Smith, a
plant specialist from Michigan State University will be speaking on plant
rescue.
Minutes:
The Michiana show was discussed, and arrangements
made. For those who receive this early
enough don’t forget the Michiana show – especially if you agreed to help. Directions are posted on the web site.
There was a good crowd to listen to Dick Wells of Hilltop
Orchids speak. He gave an interesting
lecture on Phalaeonopsis as well as his experiences through the years. He also indicated that there would be an
open house the 3rd weekend in August. Keep it in mind. As might
be expected, many plants were purchased!
There may be enough members interested in the “semi-hydro” pots that John Talpa uses to justify a case. If you are interested please contact John by phone or at the meeting. His phone number is listed below.
We need a
volunteer host and/or hostess for the picnic.
Russ and Georgiann had offered to host, but will be unable to do so
after all. John Talpa thought another person mentioned they might be
interested, but he could not remember who it was. Do we have a volunteer?
We will need to verify a location for the picnic at the next meeting.
I will try to get the pictures from the Livonia show
posted before the end of the week. Be
