ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR May 05, 2002
PLACE: Kalamazoo Valley Community
College 6767 West O Avenue
Kalamazoo
MI 49009
TIME: 2:00 PM Society Meeting
Program:
Meeting:
Larry
is a member of Dunes Kalamazoo Orchid society and has had orchids for a number
of years as a hobby. About ten years
ago he built a green house and started selling orchids. He has received about 7 nationally
recognized awards on plants that he has grown and displayed. Larry does some of his own hybridizing and
received a national award for one of his plants. There will be a potting table
with a potting demonstration. There
will be several tables with members to answer questions in various areas of
orchid care, water, fertilizer, lighting, books and general questions about
growing and caring for your orchids.
Michiana
Show Awards:
Dave Middleton entered a drawing for
judging, but alas, no ribbon.
Just a note to all of you new orchid growers out there: First time entrant, Mary Jane Ruess,
provided four (4) of her plants for the show.
Four plants entered, four nice ribbons!
Mary Jane, Congratulations on a most successful start. So, when the next
show comes up, bring those plants in and get your feet wet. The worst that can happen is that you have
supported your society and brightened our display.
