Lynn O’Shaughnessy will be discussing
Masdevallia, Dracula, Lepanthes, etc.
Lynn has been a pleurothallid addict since 1997. She started out
growing pleurothallids under lights in her basement and eventually moved to her
new greenhouse in January 2000. With more growing space available, she
has been venturing into hybridizing and growing seedlings from flasks and
compots. She has over 1,300 plants in her personal collection in nearly
every genera of Pleurothallids, including many divisions and kiekis. She is the newsletter editor for the
Pleurothallid Alliance and the webmaster for their website. She would
urge anyone interested in growing pleurothallids, even if just a handful, to
consider joining this great group. You can find information for every
level of growing - from the beginner to the most advanced.
You surely have seen her displays in a
large case at many of the local shows.
She will have a list of available plants on
her web site http://members.ismi.net/pleurothallids/
on or after Sunday August 19th, 2001.
This way, club members can preorder plants so she will have them
available at the meeting. She said she
will have many plants for sale.

Room 1510 is the large room that we have
been currently meeting in.
Room 4380
(For, August 26th 2001 and January 6th, April 7th
2002) is one of the two main rooms off of the cafeteria. Entrance is through the doors just west of
the ones we use for 1510. Walk straight
back to the cafeteria. Turn right upon
entering the cafeteria.
