We received the following note from Joan Stohrer:

“I’ve found a job in Hawaii and start work Feb. 1, so I must reluctantly withdraw from Dunes-Kalamazoo Orchid Society. Unfortunately, I am unable to take my plants with me and so must locate new homes with caring owners for them before I go. My plants are of good quality, and I’ve had most of them for several years (“age” in the attached list refers to the date they were first potted).”

Joan has placed as many of her plants as she could with grower friends.  The list below is the remaining “orphans”.  She does want to overwhelm the membership with her plants, so she’s not asking that they be auctioned.  She is more interested in good placements than high prices (although if someone offers her money for a plant she will accept it). Of those not currently flowering, she does have pictures from the past so new owners can see what to expect.

Larry says he will help Joan bring plants to the January meeting if members indicate which ones they want.  Joan also wrote, “I was tickled to see the first place and show trophy forthe society display at Michiana in 2004, and I'm going to miss the friends I've had for so long and from whom I've learned so much.”

The list of plants is below.  The best way to reach Joan, so she can have your request in writing is at the following e-mail:  Stohrerj@msu.com  For those without e-mail, her phone number is (269) 385-3903 (you can leave a message if she isn’t home).
